Terms of Service

Effective July 16, 2026

These terms govern your use of this website and, at a high level, how we work with clients. Specific projects are governed by the written quote or proposal we agree to together — where a proposal and these terms differ, the proposal wins.

Our services

Dev Websites provides website design, website development, website redesign, local SEO, maintenance care plans and related services to small businesses, primarily in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Free demos

Our free demo is exactly that — free. We design a demo homepage for your business at no cost and with no obligation. You only pay if you choose to proceed with a full project. Demo designs remain our property unless and until you engage us and pay for the project.

Quotes, payment and timelines

Published prices (such as our Starter and Business tiers) are starting points for typical scopes; every project is confirmed with a written quote before any payment. One-time fees are payable as set out in the quote. Care plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled any time with notice — no long-term contracts.

Timelines we quote (such as 48-hour Starter delivery) begin when we have everything we need from you — content, images, approvals and access. Delays in providing materials extend timelines accordingly.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that any content you provide (text, images, logos, brand assets) is yours to use, and that your business information is accurate. You are responsible for the legality of your own business, products and services.

Ownership

When a project is paid in full, you own your website — design, content and domain. We may showcase completed work in our portfolio and marketing unless you ask us not to in writing.

Care plans and hosting

Care plans cover hosting, updates, backups, monitoring and reasonable content edits as described at the time of purchase. If you cancel a care plan, we will hand over your website files and help you migrate — you are never locked in.

Warranties and liability

We build carefully and test thoroughly, but no one can guarantee specific business outcomes, search rankings or revenue. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the services giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Third-party services

Websites rely on third-party services we do not control — hosting platforms, domain registrars, email providers, payment processors, and platforms like Shopify or WordPress. Their terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for their outages or changes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page with its effective date. Questions? Email [email protected].
